Quand un vieux monsieur pique du nez sur ses scones et son thé au salon Elderflower à Oxford – victime d’empoisonnement –, Lucy Swift et sa bande de detectives amateurs morts-vivants sont sur le coup.


Le salon de thé Elderflower est voisin de Tricotti Tricotta, la boutique de tricot que gère Lucy et où se tient, tard le soir, le Club des Vampires Tricoteurs. Les propriétaires du salon de thé sont des vieilles filles octogénaires amies de la famille. Lucy tient à les aider à résoudre le mystère qui les a contraintes à fermer leur commerce. Mais le meurtre n’est pas le seul sujet qui préoccupe les demoiselles Watt. Un homme est venu les séparer. En effet, Miss Florence Watt est courtisée par une ancienne flamme, dont Mary Watt ne pense rien de bon.


Non contente de chercher qui, parmi ses nombreux ennemis, a bien pu empoisonner le detestable colonel Montague, Lucy essaie de peaufiner ses pouvoirs magiques avant le dîner Wiccam improvisé auquel sa cousine sorcière insiste pour qu’elle participe.


Cependant, elle n’en est qu’à ses débuts en tant que sorcière. Il faut dire qu’elle a fait sauter sa cuisine avec un sort mal maîtrisé, alors elle préfère y aller doucement.


Du côté du tricot, ses efforts ne sont pas non plus couronnés de succès. Toutes ses mailles sont à l’envers et elle confond tous les points, si bien que l’écharpe qu’elle tente de fabriquer semble avoir été rongée par les mites. Par moments, Lucy a presque envie de plier bagage et de rentrer à Boston. Ce n’est pas l’envie qui lui manque, mais elle ne veut pas quitter sa grand-mère bien aimée, ses nouveaux amis, un vampire très sexy et un policier quant à lui bien vivant.


Sorcière et Boutonnière est le deuxième tome de la série Le Club des Vampires Tricoteurs, un cozy mystery paranormal. Il peut être lu indépendamment des autres tomes et ne contient pas de sexe ni de violence, rien que de l’humour, du tricot, de la magie et une touche de romance.
